Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect

Tradesman Pro stores the following information:

• Jobs, customers, and expenses — entered by you, stored on your device (localStorage) and optionally synced to our secure cloud backup via Supabase.
• Profile information — your name, trade, phone number, email, company name, license number, and profile photo.
• Usage analytics — anonymized events such as "job saved" or "PDF sent" to help us improve the app. No personal data is included in these events.
• Phone number (for sign-in) — if you sign in via phone, your number is used solely for sending a one-time verification code via SMS. See Section 5 below.

2. What we never collect

• We never sell your data to third parties.
• We never share your customer names, job amounts, or business information with advertisers.
• We never track your location without your explicit permission.
• We never read your contacts or messages.
• We never store your payment card details — all billing is handled by Stripe or the App Store / Google Play.

3. How your data is stored

All data is stored first on your device using browser localStorage. This means the app works completely offline.

If you choose to create an account and sign in, your data is backed up to Supabase — a secure cloud database with row-level security, meaning only your account can access your data. Supabase is SOC 2 compliant and stores data in the United States.

If you clear your browser data without a cloud backup, your app data will be lost. We strongly recommend creating an account to protect your data.

4. AI features and your data

Tradesman Pro uses Anthropic's Claude AI for voice input, receipt scanning, SMS parsing, and weekly planning. These features send only the specific input being processed to Anthropic's API:

• Voice input: the text transcript of what you spoke.
• Receipt scanning: the photo of the receipt.
• SMS paste: the text you pasted from a customer message.
• Weekly planner: job type, address, and date information only.

Your customer names, phone numbers, financial totals, and business information are never sent to Anthropic's API. This is a hard technical constraint built into the app.

AI requests are routed through a secure proxy (Supabase Edge Function). No personal API key is required — AI features are included in the app.

5. SMS and phone verification

If you choose to sign in with your phone number, we send a one-time verification code via SMS through Twilio. By providing your phone number, you consent to receive this verification message.

• We send SMS only for account verification — never for marketing, promotions, or any other purpose.
• Your phone number is stored only in our authentication system (Supabase Auth) for sign-in purposes.
• Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
• You can reply STOP to any verification message to opt out. Reply HELP for support.
• SMS is provided by Twilio. Twilio's privacy policy applies to message delivery.

6. Third-party services

7. Data deletion

You can delete all your data at any time from within the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes all your jobs, customers, expenses, and profile data from both your device and our servers.

To request data deletion by email, contact us at privacy@tradesmanpro.app. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

Tradesman Pro is designed for use by adult contractors and business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use of Tradesman Pro after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
